The sample illustration below is of an industrial dishwasher that was dropped off at our office. This drawing was developed from scratch, using the actual dishwasher as the only input. This drawing is CAD-accurate. This drawing was ultimately broken down into many different illustrations and used to assemble the Parts Manual for this unit. TechArt can develop Wordless Instructions for your product. There are several advantages to wordless instructions. First and foremost, people don't like to read instructions! With wordless instructions, they don't have to! In addition, the wordless instructions are more interesting and they hold the attention of the user.
Secondly, wordless instructions do not require translations. If you are selling your product in the US, Spanish translation is becoming mandatory. If you sell into Canada, then French comes into the picture. And if you sell internationally, you can find yourself translating your instructions into many different languages. With wordless instructions, there are only minimal translation issues. The way that TechArt designs wordless instructions, there are only two pages that require translation: the cover page and an icon key page. The icon key page defines the meanings of all of the icons in the document. By only having to translate these two pages, companies can save money by eliminating transation costs and by reducing the amount of printing required for multiple instruction sets in various languages.
